According to an article by Jamie Devereaux in Converge magazine online, "Mobile social networks allow members to share pictures, video, audio and text messages with anyone in their network using a cell phone."

 

Devereaux offers the following list of mobile social networks along with these descriptors:

     

  • JuiceCaster -- lets users meet new people, connect with friends and share photos and videos directly from their mobile phones. Instantly post videos and pictures to Myspace, Facebook and other sites.
  • Saki Mobile -- to manage your social network, find old friends, map favorite locations, create party invitations, express your opinions or chat with instant messaging.
  • 3Guppies -- find, create and download music, pictures, videos to just about any cell phone.
  • PeerBox Mobile -- a user-generated content, social networking and peer-to-peer file sharing service for mobile phones.
  • Playyoo -- a mobile gaming social network; a social platform for user-generated mobile games.
  • Kyte -- install the free kyte application to your mobile and get ready to broadcast. Users can send pictures and video to a personal kyte channel online.
